All of us have that one friend or family member that we run to with exciting news or devastating information. When something happens in our lives, we share all the details of what we're feeling and experiencing. In fact, we couldn't imagine not having that individual around to share those tragic and triumphant moments. Simply put, life would be a lot less meaningful without their presence. Yet, I think we all should reconsider which persons we call confidant. Moreover, I think we all can make a better selection in who we seek out first during life's major milestones (even in life's ordinary moments).
Throughout the Bible, God calls us to Him. He shares with us His desire for fellowship and intimacy. No matter how far we stray, God continues to pursue us relentlessly. God wants to be our number one confidant this day and EVERY day. Truth is, no human being will ever love you the way God loves you. His love is everlasting and inexhaustible. God's love for you is not contingent upon your appearance or your capabilities. So, why refuse such a pure love?
This year, when something exciting happens in your life, seek God first. Tell God thank you and talk to Him about your joys and fears. When something happens that breaks your heart, cry out to God. Ask Him for His presence and comfort. When you are lost and do not know where to turn, call out to God and ask for His guidance. Every aspect of your life matters to God. Since He knows what’s best for you, put Him first.
Love,

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
