Let’s face it. Many of us spend the majority of our week hard at work. Rarely, do we have sufficient time to devote to family and friends. Moreover, we have to cram in moments of prayer/devotion and rest. When we think about the imbalance, it can be very discouraging. However, we should refrain from wasting time murmuring about our lack of R&R. Instead, we should make the most of our down time. Therefore, this post is dedicated to maximizing your outside of work hours.
The above items are all a part of my relaxation regimen. I start my evening routine by lighting a beautifully scented candle and taking a soothing shower. Next, I go to Hulu and turn on my current favorite series, The Good Wife. My other favorite source of evening entertainment is rereading novels that I've enjoyed throughout the years. Jane Eyre is a novel that I can read again and again and still get lost in the chapters. It increases my vocabulary while taking my imagination to new places. Of course, my evening would be incomplete without the perfect snack. A bowlful of white cheddar popcorn or a square of sea salt & almond dark chocolate is the best accompaniment while watching my shows. I do all this while wearing my favorite robe and fuzzy socks.
