Discover Your Worth

Happy Saturday to you!

Many people base their identity on who they are connected to or what they possess. Take away the people and the objects and these individuals would be lost. Others base their identity on physical features. Any alteration to their outward appearance would impact how they view themselves and interact with the world. It’s a sad state of affairs. Consider this. Someone you know thinks she is worthless without her children. Someone you know thinks he is a waste of life without his corporate job. A young teenager thinks that her beauty lies in the color of her eyes. A young man thinks that his attractiveness lies in the price and speed of his vehicle.

We have to do our part to put an end to this way of thinking.

People, young and old, need to value their greatness. That greatness exists outside of relationships, possessions, or physical attributes. Our greatness lies in the fact that the Creator of the universe felt incomplete without our existence. He made us to commune with Him and to abound in good works. We were created in love and with purpose. Our families, our relationships, our physical attributes are mere components of why we exist. Nevertheless, outside of these things we have worth.

You are a vibrant and purposeful spirit. Appreciate the things that you possess in this life, but don’t allow them to define you. Walk daily in the knowledge of your worth. As I always say, if you don’t know your worth, you don’t know your Creator. Get to know Him and He will reveal to you all the beauty that lies within.

Psalm 139:13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.
