INFINITE VERSUS FINITE

In James 5:13 , the writer says, “ Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.” This verse points to the fact that we are all experiencing varying seasons of life. In some parts of the world, it is winter. In other parts of the world, it is summer. In someone’s life, there is immense adversity today. In another person’s life, there is abundant joy. With this knowledge, we all should be self aware in our interactions and engagements.

For those in joyous chapters, celebrate! Rejoice in the blessings that God bestows upon you. Give thanks with exuberance. Be fully present in your victory. Be grateful for the good happening in your life and be compassionate towards the suffering of others. Honor the One from whom all blessings flow—the Creator.

If you are suffering, be honest with the Creator. Cast your burdens on Him and do not feel forced into lying about how you feel. God can handle your tears, your frustration, and your grief. The key is to be angry and do not sin. Do what you can with what you have and trust God to do His part. Remember, God is just and merciful. God is concerned, and He is willing to heal your circumstances.

I’m speaking from a place of experience. I’ve lived through seasons of despair and seasons of victory. I’ve known God’s love, goodness, and faithfulness in every season. I’ve seen God’s ability to comfort, to aid, to intervene, to guide, to heal, and to save. I know God cannot fail me, and He cannot fail you.

Love,

Compassionatelee

James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
