Happy Friday to you!

One of the things I love most about the holidays is the opportunity to reflect on how wealthy I am. This is the time of year that I get to see my parents, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones. I hear their laughter. I see their smiles. I feel their embrace. I get lost in their conversations. I enjoy their delicious cooking and sweet baking. As I close my eyes in bed, I say to myself, "Girl, you are rich!" I am rich in love. I am rich in grace. I am rich in mercy. The abundance of wealth never ceases to amaze me. I know the pain and grief of losing loved ones. So I understand the wealth of their presence. I relish the moments I can share with them. Life has its imperfections; yet my loved ones make life worth living.

This holiday season, cherish your blessings. You may have little. Nevertheless, appreciate every good thing in your life. More importantly, be a good person. The world needs good people committing themselves to good works. Again, I ask you to be a vessel of God's love and let righteousness abound. There is no greater righteousness than to love God and to love His people. For if you love God, you will obey His commands. If you love His people, you will experience true wealth.

Love,

1 Thessalonians 3:7 For this reason, brothers and sisters, during all our distress and persecution we have been encouraged about you through your faith. 8 For we now live, if you continue to stand firm in the Lord. 9 How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we feel before our God because of you? 10 Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you face to face and restore whatever is lacking in your faith. 11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you. 13 And may he so strengthen your hearts in holiness that you may be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
